I put a set of diamond back rattler on one of my bows today, and I can see what you mean. Once the snake is trimmed to fit the limb, there is very very little weight added to the working portion of a limb, and I don't think I would lose more than 1 or 2 fps with any skin...so, it really doesn't matter to me anymore if I was to have python, bullsnake, a watersnake, or whatever...as long as it is something I think looks cool.

This was only the 3rd bow I have ever put skins on, but the other two were about 5 years ago and I honestly didn't remember all the details. Looking at it today, although I didn't weight it, I am sure it isn't a significant amount. I do like the western diamond back though. I will post pictures of it tomorrow...as I should have my finish done. Just need to put the leather grip on the bow.
