What wood

What wood makes a good ELB design specifically. I ask because i have heard that diffrernt woods are better for diffrent desgins. I also mean woods other than yew, as i have no access.

OSAGE !!!ALSO HICKORY MAULBERRY MOST OF EM WILL WORK BUT I LIKE OSAGE AND MAULBERRY KINDA WANTING TO TRY A HACKBERRY

My choice is ash . Stained dark oak with a white linen backing. Or bamboo. Here are a few photos of hickory and ash dyed. Denny

Once you've made one successfully out of something else, try to get some Yew, you will appreciate the difference.
my first real longbow was Elm, 60 pound draw weight. It taught me plenty, but Yew is much much better.
