'Man Rock' for Eddie Parker
« on: June 08, 2010, 06:37:49 pm »
It would take a pretty poor injun to strap this one on then end of a stick and go hunt mammoths with.

But this one has your name all over it Eddie.

Told you I would poke one out of man rock for ya. And you sure do seem to be a poor injun.
Its humped, stacked and weighs about a ton but it is fluted on both sides......

Made it out of some concrete that we dragged 700 miles back from TX when I wasnt smart enough to know good rock from gas mileage.

I wanna see it on a dart with mammoth blood on it.

PM me with your address so I can send it off in the mail. This one is too ugly to be hanging round here. :)

Later.

Well if I didnt read the post I would say it looked like the Onondaga that is north west from where I live.

Ha, Ha, Ha. That's funny, Wade. I'd be happy to put that thing in my case and tell everybody Wade made it for me. ;D And to let you know, I beat out a coral point this afternoon. ;)

That's funny - like them flutes too. Bet that stuff would cook up into some nice working rock..

Paul,
Funny thing is that rock is cooked. Last time I cooked it I took it to 550 for 12 hrs and it got crumbly. This time I took it to 450 for 24 hrs and it knapps a bit better than raw. better in the dark places than in the light. And it is full of inclusions and grainy.

It is a bunch of that rock we picked up down by temple TX up by the lake when david and I were out there huntin. It is rough stuff but it chips.

I got some of that rock and some of it worked as good as anything...and some didn't.
Be thankfull for all you have, because no matter how bad you think it is...it can always be worse.
