Just watched the video. I was wondering if the bow is really that quiet, or if the mic just didn't pick up the sound?

It's quiet, yes.
I think that straight selfbows are really quiet...recurves are other thing.

That bow turned out VERY nicely.  Great job.  Those bitter oranges make for one of the greatest pork marinades I've tried.  From what I understand it's a very Cuban thing, also.

Parnell, I think that one can find this wood at any place where ancient spanish people emigrate (there were the north africans in the eight century (our territory became a caliphat) who planted it in the spanish peninsula).
Hillbilly, I live about one hour from that country side. But it's a very nie place, full of tress and eagles. I live in the city of Valencia.
