Thanks Pappy and Oldbow... honored. Dragonman, Hackberry is considered a hardwood, although it's fairly soft compared to others. I like it's toughness and resilience. Once you get a good Hackberry bow tillered and it's pretty clear, you don't much have to worry about it breaking. It needs to age a while, though. Down here, the "Sugarberry" Hack is a nice tree, I have 2 in my yard 'cause they make good shade and live a long time (native). You can tell Sugarberry from regular Hackberry by it's bark...smoother with only a few "warts".
