Pipes & Copper Boppers
« on: May 01, 2010, 02:40:01 am »
I have been cutting slabs of Glass Buttes obsidian, and started a couple of projects to do between cuts.  Here are a couple of boppers I made from solid copper, madrone and purple heart.

And a couple of soapstone pipes that I have roughed out.

Very nicely done.  All look like they will be around for a long time.

Thanks Parnell and Skyarrow.  Are either of you smokers? I need a bit more information to finish these pipes.  I am going to make a long cedar pipe stem and am wondering what is a good diameter to drill the hole?  About the size of a pipe cleaner?  Also should I put a piece of screen or something in the bottom of the bowl to keep coals there?

Yeah, I know what you are saying Hillbilly61.  Brings back some memories...   >:D Well the pipes still need a long carved wood stem, and much more polishing, but I think they are on their way to being pipes.

They really do look nice. How long is that copper?
