Hackberry Hammer II

This is a hackberry longbow. 64" NTN 46# @ 27"  I wanted this bow to look old, like drift wood. I stained it with walnut stain then sanded portions of it and re-stained. I finished it with tru-oil. It shoots like a dream - really a fast bow and smooth shooting.

Great looking bow Jimmy. I just wish you guys would quit posting pics with all that bow wood in the background. It makes me want to go cut down the whole forest.  ;D

0209 - I enlisted in 1986 and was commissioned in 91' so 24 total with 19 of that being an officer. Seems like I began this journey only yesterday.  All I ever wanted to do was teach high school history but the good Lord saw fit to let me play Army in the interim - 24 years later I'm still playing.

Awesome job on that bow, Jimmy.  That's about where the weight ended up on the one I made and I really enjoy it.  Mine has lifted a splinter though on the back, so I superglued it and am thinking I'll do a layer over the top of some cloth.  We'll see.
I really like the profile and the beat up look.  Very nice.  Hope it brings you luck!
