BBO recurve w/copperheads 60"
« on: April 22, 2010, 03:25:58 am »
Here's my new huntin buddies. 60" ntn  58# @ 28" bbo recurved w/copperhead skins, bubinga lam and handle, wb tips a mess of arrows and a bunch of points made for me by SawFiler.
This one started out with 5 1/2" of reflex, unfortunately I lost 2" of that, unstrung right after brace it's at 3 1/2" of reflex. 1 1/2" wide tapering down to 3/8" at the nocks.  Shoots real nice and its pretty quick, probably the nicest bow I've made. Should be, started it back in 06'. What can I say, I'm slow !!   Scott

I believe that is one of the nicest bows I have ever laid eyes on. You certainly haven't lost your touch. Steve

That is absolutely beautiful.  One of the best I've seen, not to mention those arrows.  Outstanding work, it may have taken a long time but it was worth it.

"beautiful" just doesn't cover it...  But as I'm lost for words, it'll have to do!

Gorgeous grip-work too...  I've a few pairs of boots with that type of plaiting around the edges.  If you make another grip like that, you've GOTTA do a build-along for it!! Please??

What kind of leather is it?

***EDIT***

Knew I forgot something...  is that the new term for 2 dozen arrows....?  "...a mess of arrows..."   ;D

Long may they last you and may they fill your freezer (and bellies) for years to come!

That is a great looking bow. Im particularly glad you took so long to build it. I think it is important that the new guys know we don't just whip one like that out in a couple of hours. Patience is still the bowyers best tool.  ;)

i second that notion, i am still drooling over the handle. I love the leather work. Most excellent job sir.  Ty
