PLAINS BOW (LOCK HAVEN, PA)
« on: April 20, 2010, 10:23:32 am »
Thought i would share this.... Saw this bow in Lock Haven PA, while there for work. This is obviously a plains bow sinew backed, and quite short probably standard length for plains type bow. Maybe 46-56" rectangular cross section, very nice looking bow. Has a few wraps around the handle section of thin sinew wraps you may be able to see in the pics. Looks to be a thin sinew backing.  I am considering contacting the museum director for measurments.  As for wood/string type your guess is as good as mine there was not much info.  Hope you all enjoy!

This bow was actually displayed in the Court House, but you would need to call the Heisey Meuseum the director was a really nice guy. sorry i do not have his name
I believe this is their number 570- 748- 7254. If you get them please post them here or let me know!!!

Thanks,
