Thanks everyone for the kind words!
I got in a little short range shooting today, and while 40# is still on the upper end of my weight range, it seems to shoot smooth and fast.  At the very least, the arrows make a very loud noise when they slam into the cardboard and plastic jug with the turkey target at the end of the Underground Lair's range (OK, only 12 yards  ::)).  Loud = Good!  Being so short, this is the first bow I can shoot standing up in the basement  ;D.
Oh, one other thing, I had kind of a zen moment while working on this bow; others have mentioned it here, but for the first time my fingers started seeing better than my eyes while shaping the limbs!  An interesting sensation looking at a bow, thinking it looks pretty good, then running your hand along it and "seeing" that it's far from right, and then feeling when it's right before seeing it.  Not that I've snatched the pebble yet, by any means  :D.
Also, I really like hickory!

If it doesn't rap the lintel, it might not be a longbow.

Boy Frode, that looks really slick. It looks awesome as a functional shooter, and the finish is great too. The handle area is wicked cool, and the nice skinny tips with those overlays are great.

Pllus, hardcore beard! =)~

Well, last word on it... it shoots real nice, no hand shock, fast, and the new owner is a happy camper.  It seems to stack quickly right at it's draw length, I don't know it that's good, bad, or normal, but it doesn't seem to hurt it's shooting.
Oldbow, considering the glued on overlays, is something like this still considered a self bow?
Thanks again everyone,
Frode

Very pretty grain round the handle, great tiller, personally I'd lose some of the overlay, any wood protruding beyond the string is only dead weight, but they are nice and individual.
I'd certainly call it a self bow.
Nice work

Tip overlays, would not discredit it as a selfbow.
