I have worked some that knapped great, and some that was unknappable. Sometimes it keeps the wood grain in it, a flake will run in one direction, but not in another.

I just tried chipping some this afternoon. It was heat treated and looked good. Then it was like the flakes started following the wood grain and it was twisted.
