Osage takedown

Here are a few pics of a burlaped-backed Osage Takedown recently finished. It came in a few lbs light due to tillering problems with the upper limb. 62" ttt, 42#@ 27". Probably the lightest bow I've ever made, but shoots smooth.

That looks slick.

I would never have pegged that for a takedown if I hadn't seen the pic of it apart.

Looks like just the thing for Grendel hunting. ;-)

Lovely looking bow and smooth tiller.  I'll never get tired of seeing osage bows....

Looks good.  42# still plenty for whitetail.  I agree, that is a really non-takedown looking takedown.  Fine job.

Hrothgar, the tiller looks great!
I'm sure you could have reduced the tips FAR more and doing so increase cast!

Thanks for the comments guys. Medicinewheel, about 2/3 of the way up the upper limb the crowned back takes a nasty dip, I had to make it pretty thin in order to get a good tiller.

Diligence, here are a couple more pics of the sleeve. I basically use a 4 1/2" long piece of 1" metal conduit, and squeeze it a little in a vise to make it slightly oval. The last pic is of an Ash bow.
