its def softer than whitetail but i never have any problem with it. i never have to grind or adjust the billets, if i get a flat spot i just turn it a different direction. i cant see why everyone wouldnt want elk billets. i have yet to wear one out. used one for over a year and never wore down. id still be using it if the dog didnt steal it and half my flakers and hide them somewhere......that young pup has got 7 flakers and 4 billets from me in the last 8 months...lol  cant take your eye off them

     Twistedlimbs, go to Forsyth, and look in the Yellowstone river.  It is about 80-100 miles from you.
Supposed to be lots of Moss Agates there abouts.  Lots of motels near the river also.
