What Keith did not say was he's a luthier by trade and what these guys do make a bow-n-arra look like a play perty. I was humbled by his craftmanship. You'd have to see some of the tee-niney lil tools he uses, planes, scrapers and gouges to appretiate it. I tried pickin' on a guitar for about a decade there when I was young, but alas have no music in me naturally. Bowyerin' is a skill, something that can be learned with sufficient investment. Making wood sing, you get that, or some measure of it, from the Creator.
We really enjoyed our stop Keith. It did turn out to be the highlight of our trip. So much so we're liable to do it again next year, correctly this time. We'll stay the night in Hammond on the way down and enjoy first-Friday properly. Btw, stopped out on 190 (B&J Seafood maybe) and got oysters, crawfish and shrimp and french bread galore on the way back Sunday. Just finished it up last night.
