Sinew Backed Black Locust

60" ntn, 1.5" at handle, 1.75" at beginning of fade, about 3/4" thick tips, one thin course of sinew, two black locust billets spliced at handle. I left the limbs wide all the way to the tips becuase I was afraid of chrysaling such as everyone says happens to black locust.

The chunk of wood I had was 40" long, 1.5" wide, and 2 inches deep. So I ripped it on an angle, so that I could get two billets out of the thickness. That made it necessary to back the bow, as well as splice the handle.

Splice was done using smooth on.

I really think I nailed the tiller on this one, took me a couple hours to do it, enjoy pics.

Also, the back started a slight mildew problem, so I put it in a hot box at 130 degrees for a day to try to kill the mold. I gained about ten pounds of weight, and didn't feel comfortable drawing it all the way back, so pics are two-three inches short of full draw.
