next generation.
« on: March 29, 2010, 08:25:06 pm »
My 8 year old Grandson has been wanting to make an arrow head. I've been teaching him a little bit each afternoon for three days. I've been showing him how to grind, and set up a platform. I thought glass would be good for him to start out on.
I'm quite proud of him. I have been showing him where to hit, and he has thinned this all hisself. He is almost ready to pressure flake, But I'm not sure he will have enough strength to do it. I'll wait and see, that's the next lesson.

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

Yea, Tim, I'm really liking it. What is nice is he is patient and listens to what I tell him. I really hope he can push the flaking himself. I think if he grinds it real good he won't have to rely on strength.

I can (hopefully) see my youngin doing that in a few years. Right now, I can't get him to close his mouth long enough to hear anything I try to tell him.  I don't know who he got that from ???..... ::)
Be thankfull for all you have, because no matter how bad you think it is...it can always be worse.

You are the man Eddie, and he is definately the mini man. He is twice the knapper I am.
