florida bow wood--- japanese yew
« on: March 28, 2010, 11:19:37 pm »

     HELLO ALL ,
I've just cut down some japanese yew (podacarpus) wow what a nice wood to work with so far. I consider this to be
on par with red cedar sofar. It split into a fine, fine flat 4 x 3 innch by 55 inch stave.
It does seam a bit weak though. Any comments or advice?

I'm not sure what you are talking about. I think it also might be called Buhda's Pine?. It has short, narrow, leaves. If it's what I'm thinking it is supposed to be good bow wood.
Lakeland, Florida
If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?
