It's been a long time... but I finally finished a new bow. I've been so busy knapping I just haven't taken the time.
This one's osage, 64" ntn 52# at 27" It's slender...barely 1-1/8" wide and tapers down to around 3/8" just in front of the string grooves. The handle area was too thin for the kind of grip I like, so I built it up with several layers of super glue soaked leather.
The handle is wrapped with goat skin lacing and the tips are Bacote topped off with elk skull.
The stave was a little split I bought from Yazoo at last years classic for $10. For a $10 piece of wood, I'm very happy with the way it turned out. It's one of the sweetest shooting bows I've made and is pretty darn quick too.
It's been shot several times by several different people but most importantly, it passed the "GregB test"
If he shoots it and it don't break...it's a good 'un
