"red falcon" trilam longbow
« on: March 21, 2010, 06:19:37 pm »
This bow is a  trilam bamboo backed Morado ( kind of purple heart) bloodwood longbow , sort of " Hill style".
It was laminated with 2,5" perry reflex, almost 1 " of reflex is left after the tillering process.
The bow is 68" N/N
54# @ 28" not shoot in yet, will probably end at around 50# @28"
All overlays are deer antler.

Here pulled at around 24"

sorry about the bad pics, but the weather wasn't that good today and I have an old digi cam.
try to get some better ones when the sun is shining

Nice work!!
If the ppl ever allow private banks to control their currency, 1st by inflation, then by deflation, the banks & corporations that will grow up around (these banks) will deprive the ppl of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. Thomas Jefferson

@all: Thank you :)
@medicinewheel: It was sold last year in a local DIY market.
  It's not good under compression, I tried several bows with it as a belly lam  and all of them crysels at 50# .
You will need Urac or Bindan cin for gluing, Epoxy / normal woodglue didn't work.

Wonderful craftsmanship. No full draw, though. Why don't you have the buyer email me a full draw for Bow of the Month?
