Started to knap again
« on: March 13, 2010, 05:19:54 am »
I haven't posted in some time now because I haven't been knapping.  I had a laser proceedure done to one eye and it ruined my close up vision.  The eye has settled down now and I've started trying to break rocks again.  I posted some points in the March challenge thread but I thought I'd better post this here because it's a little bigger (3 3/16" x 1 7/16") than I'd want to use on an arrow.  Aaron, this is the piece I got from you way back in November.  I finally worked on it last week.

That's a nice one. Keep at it.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intentions of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body. But rather to slide in sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming....WOW WHAT A RIDE!!

"I like the front side. what happened on the back side."

My aim isn't the best and inventively I will mis-strike and bugger something up, usually several somethings.  My points would all be twice as big if I could hit where I'm looking every time.  As it is, fixing one thing and screwing up something else results in one side almost always looking better than the other.  I hope to get over that some day, but it won't be tomorrow.
