I have made many types of quivers over the years. Some really fancy carved and dyed, some basic, some primtive. Here are a couple of my primitive style quivers.
First one: an old plains style made of 6 oz leather, dyed brown, and rimmed with wild rabbit fur, stiched with waxed nylon. I used this hunting for many years. I was using it in a snowstorm when I took my last cow elk with an arrow. Made about 18 years ago.
Second one: another plains style I made out of buckskin from one of my archery harvested deer. Moscow hide and fur tanned the hide for me. Has some coyote leg dangles and coyote fur around rim of quiver. Includes a bow sock for my home made stick bows. This is my most recent quiver, about 4 years old.
Third one: A grey fox back quiver which is lined with elk skin, a buckskin strap, and decorated with couple turkey feathers. This has a special feature - the front legs were pushed inside and down towards the face forming a tube between the fox hide and elkskin liner. It provides a convenient place for two arrows, such as flu flu arrows. You can see this in the last photo. It's about 11 years old, but has a new strap.
