First pics of my new bow

Hi all.

I just dug up a crummy old keychain camera, and took a couple snaps of my new bow.

72" red oak, 70" n2n, 1.5" at the fades, down to 3/8 at the tips, somewhere over 78# at 31" draw.

I learned so much making this one, that although I look forward to shooting the heck out of it, (until it breaks, lol), I"m already planning the next.

Thanks to all of you who have helped me get to this spot.

This is outside, in the rain, only pulled to 28; I wanted to get inside, lol.

Uuh, poor guy...the virus got him...!

I would give it more bend mid- to outer limb on both sides, though!

Hmmm. Your picture wound up as a bitmap image. We'll see if Photoshop can deal with that for March Self Bow of the Month fun.

I've got much better pics coming. The night before I took this, I was playing around with black spraypaint. It turns out if you go outside, at night, in the dark, when it's raining, and spray flat black spraypaint on some wood, and then, while it's still wet, try to apply oil based polyurethane stain, it doesn't work. Who knew?

Did I mention some beers were involved?

Well after about 6 hours of sanding, I got it back down to bare wood, and now I'm applying the stain according to the directions.

Then I'm gonna have my photographer buddy take some nicer pics once that's done, and I get the black leather handle wrap on.

If one type of image format works better than another, let me know, and I can upload.
