Juniper sapling bow

This is one of my bows from our sapling bow tournament in the german bow forum " Fletchers corner"

Its a juniper selfbow
 66,5" N/N
 45# @ 26"

here i harvested the juniper ,


the rings, about 1,5" in diameter




the sapling:


cut into half, the tiny one in the middle is the becoming bow stave


The juniper didn't like it at all to dry quick and that happend to it : a deep and long crack

I filled the crack with epoxy and secured it with linen and cherrybark.

finished , dear antler overlays and leather handle

Great bow and great job.  But I have to ask what is the stand with the calipers on it for? ??? ???

Thats just a Q&D spine tester, does not look nice or professional but it works and thats all i need ::)
