Two ugly Daggers.
« on: March 06, 2010, 09:14:38 pm »
As most of you know I've been trying to learn how to make danish daggers for the past year. there have been many many many failed attempts and countless hours of frustration and confusion. But i am starting to finally get it, though these are not up to Par there getting darn close. The Type III is made from KY Blue and is 7 inches long and the Type IV-E is Gorge Town and its almost 6 inches.
They both have there problems i lost stitching off one side of the type III when i was dressing up the pommel and lost stitching on the other face when i was pressure flaking the blade. And my stitching is cockeyed on at the pommel on the Type IV and i don't have stitching around the Pommel because i failed to get sharp enough edges to stitch also the blade is not as clean as i would like.
But I'll get it right one day, here are the pics, enjoy!

They could both use a little bee's wax to hide all those finger nails.

Looking pretty darn good to me Jesse! Your light years ahead of me being that you even know how to build a dagger ;D. I'm going to have to get into that one day..

OK, i reworked the type IV-E, I successfully stitched the pommel and i did secondary pressure stitching over the primary punch stitching, then i waxed it. now i am proud of it.

Those are perty nice Jesse! You'd probly like to know that D.C. Waldorf lives near me and he always has to show me his daggers. Be good if you could set down with him sometime.

Way beyond my abilities.
