My weekends work
« on: February 28, 2010, 07:34:25 pm »
I spent the last few days down at Pappys.  Had a great time!  Didn't get to do much knapping though (stayed busy working on bows). Yesterday evening while I was waiting for some glue to dry I got a chance to sit down and work a piece of Ky blue I got from Jesse.  Made this big 'ol pine tree.  I like it better than any of the others so far.
Me and Jesse learned how to do a few other things over the weekend, but I'll let him show you that ;D  :-X

The first picture is along with the last pine tree I made.  It's Ky blue also.

Great looking points...you're definitely talented!  Knapping is the hardest part of primitive archery that I've tried so far.  Every other thing that I've tried, I have been able to figure out from books and reading on here, but I could definitely use some personal instruction in this dicipline!

Very nice work. I may try to make it to Tenn for some instruction myself. ;D
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intentions of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body. But rather to slide in sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming....WOW WHAT A RIDE!!

Ya know Jamie, I have very little interest in fluted points :-\  They just don't turn me on for some reason.   I've tried a few clovis points, and actually made a couple. But the failure rate is so high with me my rock supply can't handle me trying very many.
