storing osage stave indoors
« on: February 25, 2010, 01:22:51 pm »
Split a 5'' osage log yesterday If I store them indoors with the bark on does that
eliminate the bug borer problem or are they already in the bark.  Its 20 degrees outside
68 inside will the warmer temperature increase the chance for the quarter staves to check
should I move them out. I did seal the ends with several coats of shellac.  Thanks guys.

If it has bugs they are already in the bark.Never had to much trouble with them cut fro standing trees in the winter.  :) Just keep a close eye on them if you start seeing white dust get the bark of ASAP. :) :)
