How long before they dry enough, Daddy??
« on: February 21, 2010, 08:03:32 pm »
It was a very good month to hunt bow wood.  Walnut, osage, ash, and some elm and dogwood hiding underneath the pile is just waiting to be bent.  I guess a rookie selfbowyer has to have plenty of materail around because mistakes are definately going to happen.

My son, Ethan, looks to share a little interest as for now anyway.  My wife found him today with my pencil laying out a bow on a piece of firewood.  We all got a good laugh out of that!

Good stuff I wish I got a pic of my son falling asleep in a lawn chair while watching me using the drawknife!

Hey Sandy, all that boy needs is a little bitty hammer and a little bitty wedge. ;D
It doesn't matter how or what you shoot, as long as you hit your target.

Imagine how neat it would be learning how to make bows from your dad. Really nice. Jawge
