I have some thick walled bamboo pieces, considered splitting off a couple of pieces for tip overlays.
has anyone tried this ??
I know bamboo splits easily along the "grain" but wonder about it's shear strength when shaped as an overlay....

I've used it before, Glen, and never had any trouble. I did soak it in super-glue for insurance.
