I've had people tell me to go to the weigh in at all the bow fishing tourneys. I did, and the problem I had was they just don't care about the fish after they get them in the boat. Perty bad shape after all day in a barrel.  :'( Lots of grassies just going to waste. So I just try to get them on my own and take proper care not to ruin the scales pattern.

the trout sound interesting?

Save me some Dana if you can....I don't think I will be coming up for the Tournament this Year...will be coming earlier that that this time....I think I have the whole Family coming for the First Time in 15 years together....so I won't be Home in August ....probably be there in June or early July

We got a stocked lake near us that has brook trout  and thats real nice skin. DanaM did you dry your browns skin befor you used them ? Thanks Leroy

Jim, here's a couple pics for ya,and yes they will work over leather. I have a sheath out in the truck, I'll try to get ya a pic tomorrow.

Jiml, Not thick enough for leather by itself, what I have, has been over layed onto leather, just for decor.

You say that after the skins've been scrubbed that you keep them in the freezer.  When you thaw them out, do you need to cure them or tan them or preserve them in any way before laying them on a bow?  Are they glued straight on wet or are they dried first?

Wonderful pattern indeed!!  A natural camoflage.

Hatch A, I prefer to lay them down in the raw state. After I un-thaw them I wash them again and give them a good rinse. Then just glue um down. have to baby sit them alot when they are goin on green. One can manipulate the pattern alot when they are fresh also.
