I got a southern Red Oak stave thats 60" I was wondering how far can a 60" D-bow be drawn? I just started it and got it bending a little

Chris, with a D-bow design, you should be able to get a normal 26"-28" draw out of it if it's a good piece of wood. You need to post up that mulberry, too-it's a good looking bow.

That long dark spot is a swelled area almost like a knot. I hope it dont give me any grief. Its around 1 7/8" wide at the handle area now, how wide should it be?

Here is the spot I was talking about. What do yall think? Those pencile marks are roughly where the handle is.
