Good luck Mark.
As much as I love hunting with my bow tomarrow starts Indiana Gun and my 1187 will be in hand.  I've only had 2 deer in rrange this year and butched both shoots >:(

I finally had a change of luck this morning, after seeing several bucks and a couple of does, one big doe (field dressed 105 lbs.)got a little too close. Kept it together and made a good shot on her and she traveled less then 100 yards a easy walk at a good pace blood trail. Pappy took a couple of pictures, so I'm sure he'll post them Monday. Going to give it another try in the morning. Saw several deer feeding off and on during the morning at the same place, hopefully I can find a tree to climb near by.

More knife making today as well. Life was Good today! ;)

Congrats GregB! I used the new encore yesterday and shot a 170# eight pointer. I'm with BearG on this. I need meat and the bow hunting has been slow. My brother inlaw and I are hunting one of our state parks tomorrow and Tuesday that is bow only, so I''ll try Second Chance then. I know Life is Good down there!

Another great weekend, got a lot done and we finely made some meat. Got the tips done on arts bow and I also got the snake skins on it,they turned out nice.I also got my yew bow laid out, well
most of it. Greg got a doe Sat. morning and I got a small buck Sunday morning. 6 yard shot
and he only ran 30 yards so no tracking,I like that. I started the week end capering a big 6 for a friend of mine,he gives me the meat for the skinning, good trade I think. ;) ;D Here are some pictures of the weekend. :)

Way to go guys,  Pappy tell Case he's going to have to give me shootin lessons.  I missed a doe at 20 and then 30 yards with me gun. Shoot it back at camp its shootin 2 in. low and left still cant figure out how I missied but watched her walk off. Guess it just wasn't her time.  Sat morning sounded like a war zone lots of good deer checked in at the station.  I saw BIG LOU Sat.nite but couldn't get a shoot he was in some thick stuff and I don't believe in the old hell Mary shots.  I think the deer deserves the best shoot we can give,  but that was the only two live deer I saw all weekend.

Man, I love that neck knife! I may have to commission me one of them.... How about a limited edition version of the "Pappy's Workbench Neckknife"?? Might be a big seller!!... ;)

Case is becoming the little buckmaster....might have to use him as a guide when I come out next year.... ;D

Chad, that wood on the outside is bicote..really shines up pretty. I made BigA a similar style neck knife with a bone handle that turned out nice. It's definitely addicting, but I don't profess to know that much about it yet. Still learning, and I'm trying to read up on it.
