Great wet weekend, I hated it for the youth hunt weekend but did give me some time to catch up on some stuff around the cabin. Finely for now got all the deer in the cooler processed and cooler cleaned out, also had time before the rain came in to blow and burn leaves around the place, it has been a funny year. Usually all the leaves are down by now but this year a lot or still green and hanging on, must be climate change. ;)

Also got time to gather walnuts and get another hide fleshed and on the rack. Then several of the guys showed up to shoot and check out their equipment for the next part of the deer season. Shawn got the bow we glued up a few weeks back shooting, it turned out nice and shoots very good. :)

The bow is Osage with hickory and bo back. The guys brought all kinds of arrows and bows to shoot, I love seeing and doing that.

Then everyone left but Shawn so we built a fire and the girls took a rest after a long weekend. ;) Shawn and I worked up 6 sets of Osage billets and 1 single. Now in a year or so we will have plenty to work on, like we don't now. ??? never have to much wood. :) Now back to the woods, bow season opens again in the morning and the weather is supposed to be nice and as we all know it is that time of year when thing can get really exciting very quickly. ;) :) Hope yall had a good weekend also. Life is Good. :)

We had a wet weekend as well with very little deer movement.  The water in our creeks is up 2 feet easy.  Because its a wetland its is very slow to drain.  Davey had an encounter with a small buck on Friday, but didn't seal the deal.  I love to see pics of those basket quivers.  Who would have though a Yankee school teacher with soft hand could have made something so nice!

We have a wet and windy week ahead.  Its been a tough season.

Ya we love them Glen.Good to hear from you. Hoping some of you NY boys are going to get down this year. Gary is coming and ask about yall.  I finely got things together this morning, a nice 94lb doe, good shot but she still went a ways. Shawn came and helped me find and get her out along with Sister. :) She went in one of the only places on the farm I can't get the Kobota so she had to be dragged which I ant use to doing a lot of. ;) :)

That's a nice one Pappy! I can't wait to get up there. I'm planning on being up the same day Dave is Friday the 8th.
