Made a couple of rings, turned out OK. Got started on a new beaver grip for the Osage bow I have been working on and a good fire Friday night to dry things out around there. ;) :)

Beaver Grip formed and ready to trim, had 3 very nice broad headed gifted to me from Garrett, little heavy and screw on but I might fine a use for them. ;) :) Shawn showed up to work on some turkey feathers for some arrows he is taking on his Elk hunt next week. :)

Feathers cut and trimmed. Grip trimmed up and laced, ready to put on the bow. White acorns already falling, they are pretty scarce this year and I like it that way. ;) :)

Chuck's new knife project, Palm wood handle and looking very good. Grip all fitted and laced up. Turned out nice for my first beaver grip. This one was rawhide not tanned so a little harder to work with so I have been told.  ;) :) Kind of a pain but really look good when they are finished. :)

Went out and done a little more scouting and found these, Beech nuts, found them on several trees which is pretty rare around here. We get a good crop every few years but this is the best I have seen in a while. Pretty cool, right along side a nice white Oak bearing acorns and a huge persimmons bearing also, should be a good spot for sure. Just happen to have a stand right in the middle of all that. ;)Hope yall had a good weekend also. Life is Good  ;) :) :) :)

Went to a black powder rendezvous. Was talking to a lady dressed in period clothing she had rings like that on. Never gave it to much thought at the time. Interesting, might have to some research on that.
Thanks Leroy

Yep  Bob I need to save some of them, never tried one but that has to be cool, also Turtle neck I have seen done and looked very cool also. Thanks for the reminder, on my list of must tries. ;) :) :) Stoker they are pretty easy to make , I just need to refine by bending, hard to do without getting flat spots that need to be hammered out, then you mess up the finish a bit and have to straighten that out. I think I can do better on the next ones, like anything else, their is a learning curve. ;) Only problem is Miss Joanie might get tired of me using all our forks and spoons before I get it down pat. >:D ;)

Beavertail looks good. Red thread looks sweet.

Out the door for the smokey Rockies tomorrow. I sure do feel for them fellers who bum rushed the Elk opener with bow! Last weekend was some all time heat from Oregon to Wyoming. Be early sits at wallows in that kind heat. With very similar start to the 2016 season, I am glad we moved our hunt to start the 10th Sept @ 9000ft. Now see if we can miss getting snowed under?

Should be home for Whitetail opener.

I just noticed that, I told myself 10 years ago when I started this thread that when folks quite looking as they usually do on most threads that I would stop posting, so far that hasn't happened. Thanks for all that look and post, hope you enjoy it as much as I do showing what we do in Tennessee. :) :)

Coming to Tennessee sounds good but I have to stay here and batten down the hatches at work and at home.
