Thanks guy for the well wishes, Friday and no cabin for me this weekend, Miss Joanie and I always take some kind of little trip on this weekend, probably west of Clarksville up in KY, to some small towns. We like doing that and I usually find some really cool stuff to follow me home[Clint] ;) and maybe LBL and of course Fort Donaldson to check out the new civil war Museum that is supposed to be finished this year.  Hope yall have a good one also, I am sure I will. Life is Good ;) :)

Just saw the arrow, Pappy. Yep, it's the one I shot at that big buck. Was it over near the little pine trees?

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

Yep that is where it was Eddie. ;) Had a great week and weekend Miss Joanie and I made the rounds Friday and Saturday in what some might call not very exciting , but to us it is what we love to do and really enjoyed it. Here are a few pictures of the fun. First is the Eclipse Monday in case some missed it. Then to Fort Donelson near Dover Tennessee. The Sight of a major Civil war battle early in the war. Thought we might want to see it and get some pictures of it before the powers to be decide to take it down. ??? >:(  :(

The Confederate troops stayed in small cabins like this 2 men per cabin and they had hundreds of them on the fort site. Also it is right on the Cumberland river and they had 2 major cannon emplacements aimed right at the bend in the river. When the North came around the bend , Surprise !!!

They had a pretty good vantage point, although it didn't turn out to well for the South, they did manage to slow the North's push south but as we all know couldn't stop it. :)

More on the Battle and site, we also got to see some eagles, this is a nesting site for them, pretty cool to watch them work the river. :)

It was a bad day for Buckner and his troops. :) It was interesting  to read where all the Northern troops came from. :)

Stopped by the visitors center and got to see what I will be hunting next September up close. I love reading and look at the way life was in that part of the country before they dammed the rivers and flooded all around it.

Then on to Hazel KY. to look at some goodies, the anvils I was looking at are going for 1,200.00 to 1,500.00 Hard to believe they will bring that much, I had to pass on them but found some other cool stuff. I got and old Clothes ringer, not sure what I will do with it , but it works and looks cool so I bought it. :) I remember my Grand Mother had one similar to it. :)

The ringer was built in Erie PA. Also found a nice hewing Ax Head and a hand bench grinder, been wanting one of theses for years and ran up on a good deal on this one. :)

Then Sunday morning I head to the Cabin to check on my Girls and of course at least one fire for the weekend, I had some of the guys check on Sally/Sister while I was gone so they weren't neglected while we were away. They were glad to see me though. Hope yall enjoyed the pictures, these are some really cool places to visit if you are ever in the area, lots of History there and we only touched the surface of things to see and do. Life is Good. ;) :)
