shaking off the funk
« on: February 05, 2010, 01:34:57 am »
well i havent had much luck knapping for the last week
been destroying some perfectly good rock, and only making gravel  :-[ :'(
well igot a box of talahatta in the mail a few days ago.
beat on some the first night, wrecked it is all i succeded at
the next night a grabbed another piece and beat on it for awhile, not caring if i would be succesfull or not
after about 45 mins. i all but fell off of my stool, couldnt believe it
"I SHOOK OFF THE FUNK"
i made a pretty decent point from that material, its a little thick but i dont care
after a week of the funk and no points to show i'll take it  ;D
the next night, after i made my paper weight point(see other post "heres mine " )i grabbed a piece of some kind of raw texas rock
and beat out another point, nearly a match to the talahatta point just a little bigger
i left a little of the cortex material on the texas piece, thought it looked neat  ;D
heres a couple of pics, thanks for peeking

i always wanted a harley, untill it became the "thing to ride"
i ride because i love to,not to be part of the crowd
