sinew backed elm pics
« on: January 27, 2010, 11:37:46 pm »
Here is the other bow i just finished today.  its 56" long and 48# @ 26"  probably would go to 28" no prob with the sinew backing but it has on large knot on the top limb that worries me just a bit. I worked this bow unbacked for a while and wanted a few more pounds out of it and it had a couple simple ring violations so i figured for durability i would back it.  It went pretty good and slings an arrow fairly fast for 48#.  this bows not really my cup of tea, but it was fun to make. I still prefer my heavy un backed bows, but im sure this will find a nice home someday.   thanks for looking- Ryan

Mighty fine bow and 48# is a comfortable weight :)

Clean lines and a simple, lethal elegance.  It's a vote-getter for sure.
