thanks everyone!
Sulfur, the timing on the limbs seems to be fine, the bow shoots great and the tiller hasn't changed yet after 100 or so shots so I guess it's good to go. I will admit I check the tiller often on this one in between shots I will snap a pic of the full draw and put them on my computer to compare and so far so good.
thanks juniper junkie! I think i am going with "bambickory frankenbow" with this one.
thanks Rich!
thanks Ken!
Thanks Rick!
thanks Hawkbow! Our deer season ends the 31st but I am gonna go next saturday hopefully and I am gonna take this one out for its first hunting trip, wish me luck!
thanks Oldbow! I am honored to compete this month! Lots of fine bows already posted though, really stiff competition...
thanks bowman26!
thanks aznboi! For the name and for the compliment! This is only my 9th or 10th surviving bow, glad you liked it!
Thanks NTD!
Thanks Del! Igor likes it! LOL
Thanks Dane! Couldn't figure out how to include the neck bolts into the finish work, although it woulda been cool!
Thanks pappy!
Thanks barebo! Alot of time DOES go into these bamboo/hickory backed bows, Sawing out the demensions on both pieces of wood, planing them flat to glue up, actually gluing them up, shaping them out, tip overlays, handle risers, then they blow up on the tillering tree, it is very disappointing and that is why I just couldn't bear to see either bow go to waste. I am glad I salvaged them to make a weapon of this caliber. The way it shoots, I wouldn't be surprised if this bow came out twice as good as either of it's counter-parts could have.
thanks again everyone!
