First osage finish pics

Still a little stiff on the upper limb but going to leave it alone, that knot makes it tricky. Draws 45lbs at 28" 66 ntn, no noise or hand shock. Put a squirrel fur handle and fox fur silencers. I put a little walnut stain on to bring out the grain and several coats of clear, then knocked the shine off with 0000 steel wool. All in all pretty happy with it. thanks for looking.

hey man thats looks like the wood i learned on.. I know you learn bout a 100x more from a piece of wood like that than a perfectly clean piece. That is a mean lookin thing!! Good Job  Ty..               Ps  if you have some hand shock goin on you could probably safely remove just a bit more wood around that tip knot without damaging the integrity.    Or Just move onto the next one  ;D ;D

I learned a lot, can't wait to work some more osage. At the moment I am working on a piece of red oak, never have managed to get oak to work but with what I learned on this piece and reading on this forum I have a red oak Holmegaard almost done. thanks for all the comments. Eric

Cool looking bow. How about some full draw braced and unbraced pics straight from the side with no cant to the bow, much easier to se the bend of the bow. Lots of character and knots going on there, hope mine turns out as nice.   Kenneth
