Couple of Pine trees
« on: January 13, 2010, 02:01:24 am »
These are not the cleanest points I've made but considering they both came from chunks of rock I almost threw away I'm tickled with them.
They're both different types of sonora flint, both translucent. The lighter one has a cool little quartz pocket that goes all the way through. It also has a chunk of black concrete that caused some problems but I got through it.  I done most of the pressure work on it with antler.
The dark one started out a "hockey puck".  For me to have gotten anything from it felt nice.
Just like the rock, there both just a little different variation of the same thing.

Be thankfull for all you have, because no matter how bad you think it is...it can always be worse.

the points that come from the debitage you werent gonna use are my favorite. you have to earn em, and you learn way more from those ugly blocks and hockey pucks. doesnt matter how pretty they come out , its whether you can even get something from the block. you done great again. awesome

Those are awesome, Shannon. Great looking points and I'm like you-those are my favorites that I get from a crappy chunk of rock that I think won't make anything.
