Hi Guys,

I have a not-very-primitive bow sock solution, but one which is very cheap and totally effective for car-type vehicular transport.  I use pipe cold weather sleeves from a plumbing supplies centre.  The ones that I buy are grey tough foam, about 8 feet long, and are available in a variety of internal and external diameters.  They are around 2-3 pounds each.  I cut them to bow length plus about 8 inches, and then cut and fold one end over, securing the closed end with packing tape.  Job done.  Not particularly pretty or skilful, but depending upon the tube purchased pretty much any bow can be accommodated, even recurves, because the pipe cover is flexible and will follow the bow's curves.  Sorry no pix at the moment - too much work on!
