that carbine may be very rare what co. made it? collectors are paying top dollar for rare ones.up to $ 2,000.

well i am sick of this rain i just set up shop in my living room hope the wife dont get to mad here is the latest pic i added another inch on bend woot i am going slow on this since its my first time hope to have another pick in the next few hours :)

i have a question how much shorter is the short string from n-n when i get to short string tillering ? i know i will get there today :)

i think it is looking good... stay away from the fades for awhile and get it bending more mid-limb.   ...your socks don't match  ;)  -josh

the first time I short brace my bows i use a string around 2 inches shorter than the bow...  You can always twist/untwist the string to raise/lower your brace height.  Remember to be really careful bracing it for the first time.  I believe this is the most stressful action... for me and the bow LOL.   :)  -josh

P.S.  use a bow stringer definitely...  Are you coming to the Tennessee Classic?   :)

That's what I usually do also - a string a couple inches shorter than the bow.  Don't know if you've learned to make your own bowstrings yet?  If not - it's worth learning straight away.  It's cheap to order some Dacron and you can make the jig easy.  Like Josh said you can adjust the length by just twisting or untwisting and it helps during the tillering process.
Once you start removing wood mid-limb it'll go quick!  Looking forward to seeing your first, it'll be far and away above mine!

thanx for the info i have some dacron already from kbrinkly all i need to do is make the string. and another question haw far of bend do i go before i put the short string on

I usually keep it on the long string until I can get it bending to what it is going to be bent to at brace height.

the Classic is the first weekend in May.   :)
