I found it for sale by the yard at local crafts and material store.  But its over 15 dollars a yard.  But a yard will do alot of bows.

I got mine at a local fabric store that specializes in upholstery fabrics.  It is expensive, as fabric goes, but I get it a quarter of a yard at a time, which is enough to back three 72" bows, four if I cut carefully.  Cost for that much is about $5.00, or about $1.70 per bow, which seems pretty reasonable to me.

If it doesn't rap the lintel, it might not be a longbow.

If you have a Hobby Lobby or Joanne's Fabrics nearby, they will occasionally
have remnants at great prices. I found a full square yard of linen, for $6.75
in the bargin bin. You can find silk, and burlap at those places also.

Thift shops can be hidden gems. I once found a high quality linen table cloth cheap, it backed several bows. Martha Pulliam fabric co. has good quality, good selection, and good prices--both lenin blend or 100%.

I get my linen in shops, where artists/painter buy their canvas for their pictures/paintings.

check the yellow pages of your local phone book and look for a fabric outlet store
youll be surprised what they will have on hand
we have one about an hour away and they ahve every thing from cotton cloth to tanned hides with hair on and off
to every type of camo pattern ever made
stuff is usually cheap there too
