Kona winds & big Hawaiian mountain boars ( pics )
« on: December 27, 2009, 06:23:36 pm »
In was hambushing a Wallow

hiding by some hanging brances

when I noticed in the skyline the ears of a porker approcing, he finally got to the wallow and started drinking, as I stepped out and took the shot as his head was inside the hole he suddenly stepped further in the wallow, the hit was a bit back and high, he didn't really spook untill he noticed the arrow hanging of him, he thanstarted running away, not 10 seconds and I heard the loud death moan, fortunatly I was shooting a big Snuffer on a 900gr arrow from a 78# bow.

I immediatly approced the boar, he didn't go 30 yards, as i go take pictures I'm still realing from adrenaline rush, and I had to let go of a reliveng thankfull shout

than I took normal pictures  :D :D :D

Eh brah---that's da kine!!!! North Shore? You ever shoot over at Kapolei or the Kapiolani Park range around 1997-1999? I lived in Waikiki back then, on Nahua Street across from International Marketplace. Used to get on The Bus to go shoot at Kapiolani Park. Used to hunt pig on the Pali when I could get a ride. You know Ralph and Carl and those guys who shoot all the time over at Kapiolani? Or Ken Trotter?

Tsalagi,

I've never shot at Kapiolani park, for that matter I've never shot at any Oahu range, Danelle allways talks about Kapolei But I haven't being there yet, and i don't know any of those fellas, but if you wanna come up and hunt the north shore you're welcome  ;D

Thanks guys

Danelle----that's who runs Island Archer, right? Kapolei is fun, what with the homemade 3D animals they had when I was going there. We'd usually go have breakfast at Zippy's  (no fried spam, brah, make mine portagee sausage!) and then go to the range and shoot. At Kapiolani, I'd shoot, then come home, change, and walk over to Waikiki Beach for a swim to cool off. Have to dodge the timeshare sellers, parrot vendors, and all the other jokers around the place.

I'd come hunt North Shore, but no job, brah! I stay unemployed! Can't find one job here, so no money to go to Hawaii. But I do miss a lot of things in Hawaii. You can't find a good Korean restaurant here because we don't have one in Flagstaff. We have a Vietnamese restaurant and we can get Vietnamese sandwiches there but, brah, it's NOT Ba Le, I'll tell you that! Know where I used to get off Da Bus for work when I lived there? Hotel Street in Chinatown, brah! Worked at a power tool place over off Nimitz. What I miss? Poke and Kalua Pig! Ah, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.

Aloha,

Man that's an old one, Manny. Good shooting! Those wetter's sure are wore out. I'd like to have seen how long they were before they got broke and chipped up.
