warbow dimensions
« on: December 26, 2009, 07:28:27 pm »
Hey guys,

I know a bunch of you are warbow shooters and I have a quick question about them.  Right now I've got a glued up ipe hickory stave drying and I was curious as to the dimensions of a good ole warbow.  I want her to be around 90-100 lbs at 28 inches and I know dimensions won't give me exact numbers, I just want a rough estimate.  Thanks for your time guys and hope you all had happy holidays.  Adios.

Best Regards,

I would start by reading this. http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php/topic,16753.0.html
How thick is the hickory backing? How long is the glue up?  I would start at 1" thick and 1 1/8" wide, 70" or so in length.
