pin knot question

How bad are these two pin knots going to mess me up?  They are side by side and no matter which way I lean the bow in the stave they are going to hit a limb.  How short can you go with osage?  I might be able to shorten the bow some and push those knots out towards the tips.

What's your width or intended width. Looks like a non issue to me. Pins aren't usually a prob unless you cut through them on the back.

 Those won't hurt anything. But if you want to make yourself feel better, lightly heat it with a heat gun and soak thin, Loc-Tite super glue into them.

i made a bow for jay stcharles that had if iam right a little over 20 in it, he has been shooting it for a couple years  now.

The problem is that they are more than likely be far enough out on the limb to be on the edge.  I think I recall somewhere that knots on the edge of the limb is not a good thing.  I could be wrong.

I suppose I could leave enough wood around them .. but its going to look like I am shooitng a bow with a flyswatter built into the limb.

I wouldn't worry about them,try and keep them in the middle ,best you can and carry on.
Sometimes if they are on the edge I will rap them but most times I do nothing. :) Take your
time and make sure you follow the growth rig over the knot.The grain gets really thin as you
approach the knot and over the top. :)
