Weird thing
« on: December 15, 2009, 11:12:56 pm »
This is sorta cool.
I started with a weird shaped piece of Georgetown and i ended with a weird piece of Gorgetown.. just playing around with stitching. All indirect and pressure.

Jesse:  Looks like you got the stiching thing down.  Hope to see some blades!  I have a line on the agate I told you about in Montana and will be checking it out on my next trip to Billings.  Joe

Wolf watcher, supposed to be some in the yellowstone, around Billings, but the most visited site, is supposed to in the river in Forsyth.  I didn't get to try it, I was visiting my cousins in Billings, on my way home, and was just a hairsbreadth away from the the front of that storm.  I caught part of it in a nasty snow storm, in Iowa, and NW Missouri, down to about St. Joseph, then it cleared up, and it was fine after that.  But before then, whew, it was hairy driving at night, and unable to see the road !.....

Wayne:  I know about the roads and the storms.  In the very old days 40s and 50s you could walk the hills around Forsyth and pick up moss agates by the truck load.  Now, they are hard to find! The river agates are often cracked from being rolled down the river.  My old buddies used to make rock trips to the Yellowstone below Billings to collect them for making jewelry.  I had a place on the ranch between Cody and Yellowstone Park where I could get quality agate but the Forest Service changed the trail right thru my rock garden!  Jesse, I can tell you that making stitches look real on tooling leather is hard to do!  Did you send for the Chips issue I told you about?  Front and back cover with full sized Danish dagger in color!  Joe
