Bark left on Vine Maple
« on: December 13, 2009, 03:53:52 pm »
This was recently discussed with respect to Filbert.  I would venture that Vine Maple bark left on the back of a bow wouldn't come off after it was finished.  It comes off easy when green, particularly just cut, but very hard to remove when dry.

If you leave the Bark on Vine maple....in my experience it will all be popped off before the Tillering Process is final....it snaps off in big sheets

Vine maple bark will crack and start coming off during the tillering process.
