Best of luck with your dogwood bow, looking really good so far! I've made one that I just took a deer with the day before Thanksgiving. I had a pass through shot at 18 yards with it using a cane arrow and tradepoint. ;)

  well got my tips started. and i'm  a little unhappy cause one has more bend than the other.  and  the one with te most bend developed a check on the belly side. but i filled it with super glue and iguess i'll move on to thetiller stick and not  knit pick on every little thing.

Dogwood trunk bows are nice but anymore I back mine because they love to pull a splinter I use deer raw hide but I like around 60#  @28 and sometimes the poundage over powers the backs strength I tried to post some pictures but they were to big and I don't know how to reduce them

i've got at 45# @ c24"  but my left limb is way different than right. how shouald i correct this?  or does the t. need tp come on down some more?

Looking good. both limbs could work a bit more right out of the fades, and the right limb is a bit flat a little past mid-limb.

thanks billbilly, heres what i came up with. braced  and 45# @ 27"   and right after unbraceing.  alot of my reflex pulled out,  but thats ok,  i think i'll heat the belly again and dress her up if yall approve of her.

Looking good! Have you ever thought about getting/making a tillering tree? That way you can ease it down gradually to full draw and not stress the limbs as much by leaving it very long on the board. Probably a little safer as well.  ;)

i have, and actually started that today.  but i lost the eyebolts i was going to use.  so i'll have plan that for tomarrow.

That bow looks very earthy all the ones I have made all shot good one was shooting a 525 gr. at 165fps the rest took some set but it might not of been dry enough to  start any real bending .I dyed mine with right dye and denatured Alc. so the deer hide wasn't so white in the woods silk works good to. The deer hide came from the same area I cut the trees from and was more in the spirit of the weapon.
