Gerrod Hampel's Bow
« on: November 17, 2009, 11:34:39 am »
This received from email:
The bow I made is a quad-lam hickory-maple youth bow that I built for a friend in Virginia.  It draws 10# @ 17", is 48 1/2" tip to tip.  My wife painted a "track" motif on the back of the bow (human tracks following bear tracks on the upper limb and human tracks following deer tracks on the lower limb).  We named the bow "Stalker" because of the idea of a hunter stalking the animals.  Point being, it is a youth bow, for an almost 6 year-old boy.  He and our daughter shot together this past September at the National Muzzle Loading Rilfe Association National Championship shoot.  He is really getting into archery.  Both he and our daughter are fairly good shots for the age, and my wife talked his parents about me building a bow for him.

Fun and great job.  I think that is the litest bow I've seen yet.

The heck with the bow. Focus on the little princess in the full draw :)

The paint job was totally my wife's idea.  I built my daughter a bow for her 4th birthday, and my wife painted a really nice flower motif on the back.  So, when this bow was born, she thought of painting bear tracks on it.  I gotta say, I'm a bit jealous...it is a pretty slick bow.  :)
