Hello,
I have a traditional recurve bow with at draw weight at 60#, to start with this is little bit to heavy. Will it be possible to reduce the draw weight by using a longer string?

No that will only lower the brace height. Not much you can do for it if it is Fiber glass,if it was wood
you could scrape a little off.

Build you one
,or shorten your draw length ,it will loose about 3 lbs. pre inch of shorter draw.
If it is 70 @28 then it would be about 64 @26.

I'll build one in the future. But would get some practice shooting first. If I leave to string on the bow for a long period will it loose some lbs?

Pappy's right, you're only hope is to build a bow
. If you're only interested in shooting you could make a light red oak D bow from a board in an hour or two.
